<br /> To the Dane County Agriculture, Environment and Land Records
<br /> Committee.
<br /> These residents of the Town of Middleton strongly protest the
<br /> granting of conditional use zoning of 30 or more acres of
<br /> agricultural land at Old Sauk and Pioneer Road for the construction
<br /> of a town hall , garage and park. We believe that this site is
<br /> inappropriate for a large central park/town hall/garage/sherf
<br /> department complex. This parcel of land is poorly situated for this
<br /> proposed use because access roads are inadequate to handle an
<br /> increase in traffic, and the hilly topography of the area would
<br /> create an unavoidable safety hazard for local residents and facility
<br /> users.
<br /> The proposed use would also, in the absence of a Town Plan, alter
<br /> the character and development of this section of the Town in an
<br /> unnatural manner and devalue adjoining residential property.
<br /> We urge that the request for conditional use permit #745 be denied.
