The City of Sun Prairie is located
approximately 1.5 mile southwest of the subject property. Because of
this proximity, the City is concerned about the impacts of the proposed
use.
The City understands, from discussions with Land Records personnel, that
the proposed use is intended to serve the improvements to US 151, and
will be discontinued upon the completion of the project. If the
proposed use is to be limited to a short-term operation, the City merely
wishes to indicate that appropriate measures should be taken to ensure
that the Maunesha drainage basin and Deansville Marsh are not
adversely impacted by either water-borne or wind-borne sediments, and
that proper site restoration measures are taken. The conditional use
permit, if approved, should specify a mandatory timeframe for operations
which cannot be exceeded without the approval of a new (revised)
conditional use permit.
If the proposed use is intended to operate beyond the US 151 project
time-frame, the City of Sun Prairie has strong concerns regarding
adverse long-term aesthetic, economic, and environmental impacts of such
an operation. Specifically, the subject property is located in such a
manner as to be prominently visible from the US 151 corridor which
serves as the principal entrance to the City of Sun Prairie from the
