Smiley, Director -v
Community and Regional Develoiment Planning
DATE : December 6, 1989
RE : Zoning Petition 4586, Town of Verona
I have discussed this petition and site with Jim Clark, director of
Environmental Health . He said his comment of No objection to this petition'
was based on the sanitary code which allows mound systems and holding tanks. I
Either one of these alternative systems would probably be required at this
site.
The RPC comments spoke to limitations from the soil survey for conventional
systems, which are very severe. The soil at the site where the new house
would be built is:
1
Basco - BaC2 - Very severe limitations for septic tank
absorption fields : clayey subsoil , very slow
permeability in subsoil and underlying material . In
addition, it has bedrock at a depth of 2 to 4 feet .
t
d
Due to these limitations and subject to detailed soils information being
submitted, Jim indicated that a mound system may well be required at this i!
location.
TLS: lel
cc: Bill Fleck
Jim Clark
UEG061989
ZONING G laiV.
---- RPC--
