Chairperson
Dane County Zoning Committee
c/o Mr . William Fleck
Dane County Zoning Administrator
Dane Co . Zoning Dept.
City/County Building
Madison,Wisconsin
Dear Chairperson: October 24, 1989
re : Pending Petition #4590
The Village of Deerfield Planning Commission and the Village
Board were able to meet and have submitted a letter of
approval for the petition request as amended deleting the C-1
zoning portion as previously discussed.
The Town Plan Commission met on the 19th of October and
approved the petition as amended. The Town Board does not
meet until the first Monday in November so that formal
correspondence is not yet typed and mailed to you.
Mr . Glenn Kinderman has done an onsite evaluation of the
property and has communicated to Mr . Harlan Dahlk his
findings . In brief the paroperty shows evidence of longterm
erosion. None of the land is "Prime Agriculture" grade . The
slopes on this property require a restricted farm operation
plan in order to continue in a farm use .
The State Highway Dept. Engineer, Mr . LeRoy Besler, has
forewarded a letter and copy of the projected modification of
U. S. 12 &18 to Mr . Norbert Scribner . In essence they wish to
cut out about 300 ' of the hill S. of U . S. 12 & 18 and fill in
the low lands on either side . We will design the final street
patterns and elevations around the State Highway
specifications .
The foreclosure action has been halted pending the
determination of this re-zoning request.
Given the importance of this access to the community area in
general I appeal to you to grant the zoning changes in order
for this improvement to be done .
Thank you.
Since e y
Wa ter J . lson
Petitioner
