DANE COUNTY
HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT
2302 Fish Hatchery Road, Madison, Wisconsin 53713
phone: 266-4261
TO: Dane County Agriculture, Environment and Land
Records Committee
FROM: Dennis L. Norton, P. E. , Assistant Commissioner
DATE: December 4, 1989
SUBJECT: Proposed Development, Section 23, Town of Dunn
Petition 4596. With five proposed units and six apartments per
unit, it seems realistic to expect this development to generate
an additional 100 to 150 trips on Colladay Point Drive.
Minimum pavement widths should be 20 feet with at least 2-foot
graded shoulders on each side. Information furnished this
office indicates a 20-foot pavement on Colladay Point Drive and
an 18-foot pavement on Zor Court. Consideration might be given
to a 22-foot pavement on Colladay due to the increased traffic
generated on either end of Zor Court. In addition, pedestrian
and bicycle movements should be addressed and may suggest even
wider pavements and/or improved shoulders.
Intersection radii should be a minimum of 20 feet with
unobstructed sight distance of 250 feet.
This department is aware of the drainage problems that exist in
this area. Increased runoff due to paved surfaces, roof tops,
and lawn area is of concern and should be addressed.
 L 1989
