DANE COUNTY 57 Fairgrounds Drive
LAND CONSERVATION Madison, WI 53713
COMMITTEE PH: 608-266-4270
August 17, 1989
TO: Bill Fleck
Dane Co. Zoning
FROM: Kevin Connors Ke J
County Conservationist
RE: CHAPTER 14 - EROSION CONTROL PLAN #23 - DSI INVESTMENTS,
CARVER ST. APTS.
The Erosion Control Plan for DSI, Carver Street Apartments is
deficient with regard to the following:
1) Since the construction will take place in the fall, a
schedule for seeding needs to be specified. Seeding may
not take place after September 15th. Additional erosion
control measures during winter construction should be
addressed.
2) Filter fence should be installed on the contour prior to
construction and responsibility of maintenance specified.
An Operation & Maintenance Plan should be developed that
identifies who is responsibile for safe installation,
operation and maintenance of planned erosion control
measures, as well as an inspection schedule to be sure the
planned practices operate as intended. Enclosed is a copy
of a filter fence standard that should be followed.
3) Areas will be disturbed other than just where existing
contours will be altered. These areas should be addressed
with regard to erosion control.
4) A 140% increase in discharge to the offsite area to the
north (100 yr. storm) warrants carefully planned erosion
and runoff control measures both on and off of the
construction site. This should be addressed to assure
there will be no offsite damage as a result.
K.C.
yr
AUG 1 81989
aECEIVED
ZONING DIV.
