TOWN OF MADISON _ .,. li; A
2120 FISH HATCHERY ROAD • MADISON, WISCONSIN 53713 • PHONE 257-1494 I ESTABLISHED 1846
July 12, 1988
Dane County Land Regulation
& Records Zoning Division
Rm 116, City County Bldg
Madison, WI 53709
SUBJ: Zoning Petition #4287
David Simon, agent for Jay Keepman
Reference to the above zoning petition #4287 to change the zoning from the
R-3A residential to R-4 residential, the Town of Madison Board conducted a
lengthy (2-3/4 hour) public hearing on 7/11/88.
While the Town of Madison Board will not make its formal recommendation until
after its July 18 meeting, we want to indicate to you that the Town Board did
hold this lengthy meeting on 7/11 with approximately 45 present. The concensus
expressed by the meeting participants at the end of that meeting was to support
rezoning only if stringent conditions are met. Mr. Sinykin has indicated that
he will develop a legal instrument that will make those conditions binding on
the land if the property is rezoned to R-4. The Board will only make a formal
recommendation after it has reviewed this document. However, the major issues
addressed will include: (1) Limiting the number of units to 24; (2) disallow-
ing anything larger than 1 bedroom per unit; (3) adequate assurances that all
potential storm water impacts would be alleviated; (4) retention of certain
trees including tree lines near the west and south property lines ; (5) guar-
antees of "quality" design and construction considerations for the building and
grounds. All of these assurances would require design review and approval by
competent engineers and other professionals.
The final recommendation will be forthcoming from the Board after the 7/18
meeting.
Sincerely,
TOWN OF MADISON BOARD OF UPERVISORS
a)' '
DONNA L. MEIER
Town Clerk
AIL 18 1988
HECEIVED
MN INV
