At the time Wilbur Austin stated that there were over 400 gravity flow at-grade
components installed in his county alone since 1985. (As of 10/1/2015 there are over 740 gravity flow at-
grade drainfields in Grant County according to Grant County Wastewater Specialist Jeffrey Krueger.
There were no reports of failures.)
5) A distribution box with access is to be used at the midpoint within the cell for flow monitoring. Dial-a-
Flow plugs for D-box outlets shall be installed to regulate flows for equal distribution. Proper flow level
shall be inspected every 13 months.
6) All surface flow of water is to be diverted away from the at-grade component with the finished grade.
7) The proposed basal area is 1000 ft2 for the four bedroom residence and will provide for treatment
within the at-grade component..
8) The original grade is less than or equal to 11 percent. The distribution cell follows the original grade
contour. The downslope soil cover width is extended to 7 feet.
9)A two compartment septic tank of 1000 gallons and 600 gallons with effluent filter on the second-tank
will improve effluent quality.
Historical data indicates proper functioning of gravity flow at-grade components. There was no suitable
site for a below grade drainfield found on the parcel for this residence.
If yoq have any questions, please contact me at the above phone number.
Je rey L.
