Aimee We, the undersigned, are opposed to a request to rezone a 9.8 acre parcel at T7N R10E of section 32, petitioned by the prospective buyer, Dr. Tim Docter (petition # 4391 of December 13, 1988 Public Hearing) from Al exclusive to R1 for the purpose of development. The current zoning of Al exclusive would allow the prospective buyer to build a single dwelling on the parcel. The parcel in question is located at the end of Libby Rd. , adjacent to Lake Farm County Park and bordered by Lake Waubesa. The Williamson Mound Group, consisting of 5 effigy mounds and 1 conical mound, is located on this land. The majority of the 9.8 acre parcel is currently in wilderness condition, especially as viewed from Lake Waubesa and the adjacent Lake Farm Park. It is one of the last remaining pieces of undeveloped shoreline on lake Waubesa. The rural character of this land adds to scenic beauty as viewed from lake Waubesa and Lake Farm Park. The wilderness value of this parcel is very important and has a very high cash value in the undeveloped state. To protect the Indian mounds on this land, and to maintain the "undeveloped" character of this and surrounding areas, we urge the Dane County Zoning Committee to recommend denial of the petition request # 4391 which would allow multiple housing on this land.
