' Agricultural & Zoning Committee
Page 3
February 28, 1989
(5) Traffic Concerns
Traffic concerns are related to both the County and the
proposed developer of the property. The volume of sound,
noise and traffic are most likely to be generated by people
and vehicles frequenting the park. These types of
anticipated future neighborhood complaints involving City
Police, Sheriff's Department and Parks staff and employees
have a potential for strained relationships and long ranging
disagreement.
The developing boat launch will be one of the most
popular use area in the County involving 56 launch parking
stalls, sanitary toilet facilities, fish cleaning facility,
and the beginning to the network of trails and paths.
It should be noted that these facilities were planned
and in development far in advance of this proposed survey and
development request.
Creation of three residential lots will not adversely
burden the roadways, anticipated noise would be minimal,
trespass could be a big problem from the park area to access
for fishing or viewing the mounds or shore walking.
6. Biological Concerns and Impacts
Consideration and evaluation be given to fish spawning
areas on the shallow shoreline and plant and algae growth
from increased nutrients from proposed lots and development.
7. Jurisdiction of State Over Native American Artifacts
Removal of artifacts from the site destroys most of the
significance attached to them - We do not know enough of the
12, 000 year history of the site to make proper interpretation
of artifacts.
