MOVED by Johnson, seconded by Salkin to recommend change of <br /> zoning for Lot 2 & South 16 feet of Lot 3 , Miller & Mutchler <br /> 2nd addition from R-1 to Commercial. Motion carried 7-0. <br /> 18. Petition for direct annexation of 37 acres by Doug Backus. <br /> Consideration on annexation of the 37 acres took place. <br /> General consensus of the Planning Commission is that this <br /> property would eventually be annexed at sometime. <br /> 19. MOVED by Volker, seconded by Johnson to recommend to the <br /> council to accept the petition for annexation of 37 acres as <br /> described in the petition to become part of the City of <br /> Verona. Motion carried 7-0. <br /> 20. Certified Survey Map 37 acres. Mr. Doug Backus was present <br /> to answer questions on his proposed Certified Survey Map <br /> consisting of 4 lots. <br /> Lot 2 is the lot that the post office desires for its future <br /> location. Mr. Don Mayo of Mayo Corp. consulting Engineer was <br /> present to explain the traffic analysis done for the 37 acres <br /> on city streets west of the subject property. Much discussion <br /> on the project took place. <br /> Clara Lingard voiced questions concerning cul du sac, frontage <br /> road, traffic situations, etc. <br /> Leo Sweeney asked questions about the traffic count that the <br /> city was to have done. Mayor Salkin answered questions of Mr. <br /> Sweeney. <br /> John Volker voiced many good points as to why the proposed <br /> Certified Survey Map should be approved as presented. <br /> Mayor Salkin voiced his position on the Certified Survey Map <br /> project. <br /> 21 . MOVED by Volker, seconded by Salkin to accept 4 lot certified <br /> survey map as presented. Motion defeated 1 -6 (Aye: Volker) <br /> 22 . MOVED by Salkin, seconded by Little to accept Certified Survey <br /> Map concept without lot 3 subject to impact studies as may be <br /> needed in future. Motion carried 6-1 (Nay: Faber) <br /> Ed Faber voiced opposition to this proposal. Mayor Salkin <br /> answered some of the questions concerning what has taken place <br /> with this parcel over many years. <br />
