Acreage to be Rezoned - All Department owned lands, 412 acres as of May 31 , <br /> 1985. <br /> Property Suitability <br /> The suitability of the property for the proposed uses was addressed in the <br /> 1975 EIS for the park. The EIS considered economic, social , and physical <br /> suitability and potential impacts, recreational needs, other alternatives, <br /> surrounding development and plans of other agencies. It found the site fully <br /> suitable for the tended use. The site is infact the only suitable remaining <br /> site left on the Madison lakes for a facility of this type. <br /> An on-going process which began in 1973 was re-emphasized in 1984 to minimize <br /> potential conflicts between neighboring landowners and the park. Residents <br /> have been informed of the plans and comments and concerns have been requested. <br /> This process has resulted in an agreement dated May 7, 1985, between the Town <br /> of Westport and the Department covering local concerns about road recon- <br /> struction, relocation and abandonment; property line signing and fencing, <br /> access easements for owners where needed, road lighting, signing and safety <br /> measures, full information on possible park plan changes, and bridge recon- <br /> struction. <br /> AA411(.745 <br /> iot,00.4. 2 <br /> 0 <br /> 17 5 <br /> 3� <br />
