The site of this proposed c , <br /> park is probably the last available combination of large pieces of <br /> land available on Lake Mendota. <br /> C. The land is owned by the State. <br /> D. DNR has met with local residents and officials and has the approval <br /> of the Town of Westport. <br /> E. Some farm buildings have been removed from the site. <br /> F. There will be only one entrance-exit for the park. It will <br /> necessitate reconstruction of the access off County Highway M to <br /> conform to County requirements. <br /> G. Electrical service, now above ground, will be put underground by the <br /> electric utility and will serve the park. A sanitary sewer line <br /> extends through the site, roughly parallelling the shore line, and <br /> will be used by some of the buildings. Other buildings, too far <br /> from the sewer line, will have septic systems. Water will be <br /> supplied from wells. Heating fuel will be oil. <br /> H. There are Indian mounds on the land in an area that will not be <br /> developed. They will not be disturbed. <br /> I. Wetlands in the northeast part of the site will be left in their <br /> natural state. <br /> J. Future construction might include additional picnic areas, - <br /> additional parking and trails. <br /> K. Wisconsin Environmental Protection Act. A full environmental impact <br /> statement was written in 1975, and approval was obtained. <br /> III.
