'
TOWN OF COTTAGE GROVE
COTTAGE GROVE, WISCONSIN 53527
March 24 , 1986
iiagriculture , Environment and
Land Records Committee
Room 316 , City-County Bldg.
Madison " Wis . 537O9
Re : Zoning Petition #3625 Irvinp and Martin Smith
Dear Committee Members ,
On March 3 , 1986 the Cottage Grove Town Board unanimously
approved a motion recommending approval of this rezoning
from A-1 Exclusive to 0-2 with a C . U .P . for access from
Gaston Rd. and a stipulation that the property be bermed and
landscaped to control water run-off and neighborhood noise
and that the 0TH N arrec...e. be located as far north as
possible .
It is MY understanding that the town chairman was present at
vour March 11th meeting where he voluntarily withdrew the
town' s recommendation . The matter came before the town
board again on March 17th , a meeting I was unable to attend
due to illness . The board ended in a tied vote .
I realize that this letter cannot and should not change the
official position of the board but I would like YOU to know
that this project is a perfect example of the utilizing
ofour Land Use Plan adopted in 1981 . The NE and NW corners
of the 1 -94 - CTH N interchange are already developed as
commercial properties . The board' s original recommendation
with it ' s attendant requests was intended to provide logical
growth and development for the town and to protect
ne / qhborhood aesthetics for the two residences in the
immediate area . I feel this development and the oriqinal
recommendations are in the best interests of evervone
involved and encouraoe YOU to consider them . Thank vou for
vou time . I am
Respectfully Yours .

41`m -
YU
Linda S .
