Smiley ,8p'.4//
Re: Supplemental Comments
Date: March 24, 1987
1 . Petition *3752 - Deikamp - Town of Middleton 8/12/86
Original Comments:
This is in the urban service area of the Dane County Farmland
Preservation Plan for the Town of Middleton area, where such use
is allowable. A policy requires: "All new development must be
served by sewer and water, which will be extended at the same
time. " They are proposing public sewer service, but a private
well , in an area surrounded by development with a full range of
urban services.
Supplemental Comments:
This Is a small island of town area surrounded by the Cities of
Madison and Middleton, containing five single family residences.
The plan quoted above is the adopted policy for Dane County in
this area: "All new development must be served by sewer and
water . . . "
The City of Middleton Master Plan also covers this area, and
delineates this as a low density residential area of 3 to 5
dwelling units per acre. The petition requests B-1 and
conditional use for 16-18 units, plus office space on .87 acres,
which is a density of 18-20 units per acre. This density Is
inconsistent with the detailed plan for the area. This density
should have a full range of urban services, before it is
developed, no matter who provides the services.
RPC
