AULIK, BRILL & EUSTICE, S. C.
ATTORNEYS AT LAW
JACK AULIK 1460 W.MAIN STREET
ROBERT BRILL P.O.BOX C AREA CODE 608
FRANCIS J.EUSTICE SUN PRAIRIE,WIS.S3590 TELEPHONE 837-7366
PEGGY J.AHRENS
February 28 , 1984
Dane County Agriculture,
Environment and Zoning Committee
Attn: Mary D. Weisensel , Chairperson
Room 116 , City-County Building
210 Monona Avenue
Madison, Wisconsin 53709
Re : Lori-Bob' s Country and Western Night Club
Dear Ms. Weisensel :
As you are aware , I represent Ernest M. Skalitzky who
has filed Application Number 364 for a Conditional Use Permit
for the construction and operation of a Country and Western
Night Club to be located at 4230 Acker Road in the Town of
Burke. My client has received a copy of a letter dated
February 24 , 1984 which was submitted to you by the attorneys
for Pechmann Memorials , objecting to the issuance of the
required Conditional Use Permit. The purpose of this letter
is to respond to certain assertions made in that letter which
my client feels are clearly erroneous.
Firstly, you should be aware that Mr. Skalitzky has operated
a recreational vehicle business at this particular location
for over 11 years. During that time he has suffered numerous
incidences of vandalism to the vehicles and trailers which
he had stored on that property. He found that he was able to
limit those incidences by increasing lighting and taking
other security measures. fie , as well , found that he could
limit his exposure by carrying appropriate insurance protection.
As a result of this , Mr. Skalitzky is particularly concernee
about the affect that the operation of this proposed business
might have upon his neighboring businesses . As such, he has
consulted with Mr. Raymond Wosepka who is a law enforcement
officer who is currently assigned to the Inter-County Crime
Prevention Bureau. Mr. Wosepka is a specialist in crime
prevention.
Mr. Wosepka is familiar with this business location and
with the site plans for the construction of Lori-Bob' s . He has
made recommendations to Mr. Skalitzky, which have and will be
incorporated into the construction, which are intended to limit
vandalism to Mr. Skalitzky ' s property as well as to adjoining
property. As I understand those recommendations , they principally
concern the use of lighting on and about the premises .
