Application for Conditional Use Permit
to Operate Premises as an Automobile Race Track
C. R. C. Speedways, Inc., a Wisconsin corporation, hereby requests a
conditional use permit for the purpose of operating an automobile race track
at the Capital Super Speedway, located in the Township of Rutland near the in-
tersection of Sunrise Road and Oak Hill Road. The principal business office of
C. R. C. Speedways, Inc. is located at 5116 West Lincoln Avenue, West Allis,
Wisconsin 53219.
The premises commonly known as the Capital Super Speedway were purchased
by C. R. C. Speedways, Inc. on April 29, 1983. The premises were originally
approved for operation as an automobile race track on April 16, 1969 by Dane
County Site Approval No. 165. There is currently a petition before the Town Board
of Rutland and Dane County requesting that the entire premises be rezoned from
a classification of C-1 Commercial District to C-2 Commercial District.
C. R. C. Speedways, Inc. intends to continue operating the premises as an
automobile race track and further plans on expanding the seating capacity of the
race track, as well as making other substantial improvements to the grounds if the
rezoning is approved and the application for the conditional use permit is granted.
In addition to increasing the capacity of sanitation facilities in conjunction
with increased seating capacity, the attached Exhibit A lists projected improvements
to take place within the next five years.
The race track currently holds racing events on weekends from April through
the fall, weather permitting. The types of racing events offered are varied.
C. R. C. Speedways, Inc. intends to provide entertainment which will appeal to
entire families as well as the individual race fan. All appropriate safety regula-
tions are followed, and appropriate insurance policies are kept in force.
Attached hereto and submitted simultaneously with this application is a
site plan drawing indicating current and proposed improvements on the grounds.
Submitted this day of , 1984.
Robert Zidar,
President, C. • . -. Speedways, Inc.
