Mr. William Fleck
Page Two
June 5, 1984
Temporary Tower Candelabra Tower
Elevation of site
above mean sea level 1,140 ft. 1,127 ft.
Height of tower 1,109 ft. 1,422 ft.
Overall height
above mean seal level 2,249 ft. 2,549 ft.
In addition to the proposed towers, a transmitter facility will be
constructed. This facility will be a single story, multiple module
structure, that will house the transmitters and related equipment.
Each module will be approximately 30 ft by 40 ft in size.
A proposed private driveway, off of County Trunk Highway S, will serve
as ingress and egress to the tower site. Once construction of the tower
is completed, it is anticipated that the volume of traffic utilizing the
private driveway will be no more than one or two cars per day. An
application and permit for access to County Trunk Highway S (Mineral
Point Road) has been submitted to the Dane County Highway Department.
Projected construction on the temporary tower is scheduled to start
in October,, 1984 with completion occurring in May, 1985. The projected
construction of the candelabra tower is scheduled to start in March,
1986 with completion scheduled in August, 1986.
Completion of the project will require certain approvals from a number
of governmental agencies, including the Federal Aviation Administration,
the Federal Communications Commission, and the Wisconsin Department of
Transportation. Applications for the appropriate approvals have been
submitted and are pending.
The land elevation of the site is very suitable for this type of tower
construction in that it provides additional transmitting propagation
for all of the UHF channels. The site is also located in a nonresidential
area. All contiguous land uses within 300 feet of the proposed tower
are zoned County A-1, and it appears are presently used for farming
purposes.
Also enclosed are a legal description of the land for which the permit
is requested, tax parcel number, filing fee of $60.00 and a site plan
of the property. A letter from WHA's director of engineering regarding
the structural soundness of the tower will be forthcoming.
