November 6, 1984
Dane County Zoning Department
210 Monona Avenue
City-County Building
Madison, Wisconsin 53709
Dear Sirs:
We have offered to buy approximately 20 acres (See
exhibit #1) from Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Everson in Vermont
Township. Our offer to purchase is however, contingent
on our ability to obtain proper governmental approval
to develop the land as outlined below:
1. In early 1985 we would like to begin planting apple
trees, Christmas trees, or schrubery to eventually
sell wholesale in the Madison, Milwaukee, or
Chicago area. We have been working with the Department
of Agriculture but have not yet made a final decision.
In order to do this we will need to improve the
existing farm road on the property. Our idea is to lay
a gravel road with one ditch. This road cannot and
will not be seen from County J Highway. We have also
considered building a small greenhouse in order to sell
flowers to dealers in the Madison area, but this does
not seem to be a profitable idea at present.
2. In early 1986 we would like to begin building a three
bedroom, single family home (See exhibit #2). Our
request is to have the property rezoned RH-4 in order
to comply with all regulations.
The area surrounding Mr. and Mrs. Everson's property is
agricultural and we do not want to change its character
in any way. We believe that we can help enhance the
area and would appreciate your consideration in this
matter.
yi_ /1
Mr. and Mrs. James W. Byrd
