'
April 2 , 1985
Mr. Gerald Femrite
Dane County Board of Supervisors
210 Monona Avenue , Room 118
Madison , WI 53709
Dear Mr. Femrite :
There is a hearing scheduled on April 9 , 1985 to
rezone 7 lots located within a few hundred feet of our
property.
The proposed rezoning would change the property from
C2 to R4 . The purpose would be to build a 200 unit
apartment project .
American TV is open to the public seven days a week
and evenings Monday thru Friday until 9 : 00 p .m.
Being a retail business , our every effort is to generate
store traffic and the better we do our job the more traffic
we create.
We have large parking areas in which there is much
vehicular traffic . These same large areas might very well
attract children to play on them. We love children and
don' t object to their presence in our store , but we fear
that their safety may be jeopardized if they play in our parking
lots .
We have 10 large trucks operating from 8 : 00 a.m.
until 9 : 00 p.m. We have a semi tractor and trailers
hauling merchandise to our other stores . There are many
trailers moving constantly to our receiving docks . All
of these vehicles are large and their movement is quite
constant .
I have great concern that residents of the proposed
apartments would quickly find all of this truck and normal
store traffic highly objectionable . Their effort would be
AMERICAN TV & APPLIANCE OF MADISON, INC.
2404 W. Beltline Highway• Madison, Wisconsin 53713
(608)271-1000
