Boyd voting no. <br /> Motion by Anderson, seconded by Dahlk to request the Corporation Counsel <br /> for an opinion whether counties have the authority to license race tracks. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Zoning Petition #3296 was discussed. Motion by Anderson, seconded by Boyd <br /> to waive the 12 month waiting period on re-submitting petition #3296. Motion <br /> carried 4-0. <br /> Motion by Anderson, seconded by Boyd to waive the $75.00 fee for the <br /> re-submitting the zoning petition. Motion carried 3-1. Licht voting no. <br /> G. Kinderman discussed the 50th anniversary of the Soil Conservation <br /> movement. A slide-tape presentation was shown tracing the history of the <br /> service and some of the programs developed through the years. <br /> An open house on April 27 will be held at the Heritage House in Madison. <br /> Dane County LCC is being asked to co-sponsor the festivities at the open <br /> house with a banquet in the evening. Motion by Boyd, seconded by Dahlk <br /> that the Dane County LCC co-sponsor the open house and support the <br /> event. Motion carried. <br /> Motion by Anderson, seconded by Timm that an unnumbered resolution be <br /> drafted denoting the 50th anniversary of the Soil Conservation movement be <br /> introduced at the Dane County Board of Supervisors. Motion carried. <br /> SCS Federal budget was discussed. Several programs would be terminated <br /> under the proposed federal budget. Technical assistance, plant materials <br /> and soil survey program would be maintained. Nationally staff employees <br /> would be reduced from 14,300 to 5,000. In Wisconsin 240 staff would be <br /> reduced to 90-100. <br /> Motion by Boyd, seconded by Anderson that the Committee thank the staff <br /> for responding to the request to inform them and staff to develop an impact <br /> statement as to how the budget reduction would affect Dane County and copies <br /> be sent to appropriate legislators. Motion carried. <br /> Cost share payment for Sixmile Pheasant Branch watershed were presented: <br /> Eboi Schmitt WIF 82-10(1) $3,067.40 <br /> Motion by Dahlk, seconded by Timm to approve payment. Motion carried. <br /> County cost share payment presented: <br /> Kaltenberg Seed $3,333.75 <br /> tiorMotion by Timm, seconded by Dahlk to approve payment. Motion carried. <br /> K. Connors announced March 14 will be the deadline for landowners to sign <br /> up for cost sharing in the Sixmile Pheasant Branch. <br />
