SAFETY FACTORSs
1. 300 to 600 auto trips daily on Bruns avenue is probably
greater than many thoroughfares. Bruns avenue is a short, narrow
dead end street. Those who enter must turn around and exit the
same way. Staggering hours does not decrease the number of autos
justprolongs the hazard.
2. Some children may walk from the center to nearby homes or to
catch rides from Amer Fam employees. Again, Bruns avenue is narrow
and has NO sidewalks.
3. During play periods children hopefully would be supervised
but they could well climb the fences to retrieve playthings and
placd themselves in jeopardy.
4. It is inconceivable to think that all those children would
never be outside the compound and into neighboring yards. Should
this happen and any type accident occur, the question of liability
could be raised.
5. During peak traffic hours, traffic jams will be noted from
the Stoughton/Milwaukee intersection - Milwaukee St - Walbridge
and Wittwer Sts and Bruns Ave. F ire, ambulance and police vehicles
could not get through without some delay.
WELL BEINGs
1. Area residents and condo owners purchased their proerties
in good faith, looking for a quiet and peaceful neighborhood.
This type of addition to the neighborhood will not contribute to
the well being of the residents.
2. Property values in the neighborhood will cettainly be affected.
3. The noise aggravation is extended for moat of the day if
small groups of children are outdoows at one time .
4. Project 110 sq ft (indoor and outdoor) by 15C children and
we have a need for lf, 5C0 sq ft not counting offices , kitchens,
bathrooms, storage, driveways and parking ramps . These figures
are staggering and appear to be the size of a grade school. Will
this rose a 7,1anagevent problem with conse€u, nce that would affect
residenii
5. Some neighbors will be within a few feet of the center.
Center activity will dominate their lives.
6. We presume that center employees will be well qualified but
there is no assurance that unskilled persons would be employed.
Today's headlines remind us of what can happen in such cases.
