mil I
CITY OF SUN PRAIRIE
I OFFICE OF THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR
124 COLUMBUS STREET
SUN PRAIRIE, WISCONSIN 53590-2299
' (608) 837-2511
September 18, 1987
James Strother
American Family Insurance Building
2099 East Washington Avenue
Madison WI 53783
Dear Jim.
In response to your September 16, 1987 inquiry please be advised that the
zoning petition submitted by Mr. Fountain for the property located at 1819 Clarmar
was not reviewed by the Sun Prairie Plan Commission. It was not presented to the
Plan Commission because the September 14, 1987 Plan Commission meeting occurred
after the Public Hearing that was conducted by the County on September 8, 1987 to
consider the rezoning request.
However, the subject of the rezoning of the property located at 1817 Clarmar
did come up during the September 1, 1987 City Council meeting. Although a formal
position was not taken by the City Council during the meeting the Council did
direct that a letter be sent to the County identifying the City's position on the
rezoning petition. Subsequent to that meeting a letter (attached) was sent to
Dane County identifying the City's position on the zoning petition. Although the
letter was not a formal Resolution enacted by the City Council it correctly states
the City's position based on the City's Comprehensive Plan.
I hope that this information helps clarify the City's position on the
rezoning petition.
Sincerely yours,
Richard M. Finn
City Administrator
RMF/db
cc: Mayor Esser
Doc. ADM09120/Finn
