One last item I wanted to touch on <br /> 7 was the air quality in the area. Further <br /> 8 discussion about dust made, to clear up some <br /> 9 questions, on January 15th, 1988 I met with a <br /> 10 man from the DNR, an air management specialist. <br /> 11 His name is Jeff Scibba. <br /> 12 We mutually agreed that a mandatory <br /> 13 operation permit for an existing air pollution <br /> 14 source should be submitted. Some other means of <br /> 15 dust control may or may not be needed. <br /> 16 I guess from what they require, from <br /> 17 what Jeff told me, Madison Crushing's operation <br /> 18 may be an exempt source or at the worst a <br /> 19 minimum source of air pollution, which is dust. <br /> 20 An exempt source is one that generates less than <br /> 21 5.7 pounds per hour of particulates into the <br /> 22 air. The DNR will decide the operation status <br /> 23 and what controls will be required by the OMR. <br /> 24 And we have an asphalt road that we <br /> 25 operate our trucks on inside the quarry. <br /> 15 <br /> * * * CAPITOL CITY REPORTERS * * * <br />
