We applied for and received our driveway permit this
spring. The DOT was consulted and there was no opposition.
ADVERSE EFFECTS OF DENIAL OR DELAY
We have spent considerable time and effort planning our new
home . Our home has been designed for the unique lay of the
land that our property affords . We have made considerable
sacrifices in our lives to reach the point where we are today,
which is the eve of building our new home . To deny or delay
the use of our land for which we have intended is unfair since
it amounts to taking our land from us without actually taking
it .
The financial cost to us of any delays could be significant .
Inflation is moving higher and could mean additional building
costs . Home mortgage interest rates are a significant
deciding factor for today's home buyers . These rates have
recently reversed their lower trends and are moving up. We
remember the prohibitive mortgage rates of several years ago .
Any delays in our plans at this time could jeopardize our new
home plans for years to come .
We believe that unless there are valid and concrete reasons of
fact that can be used to deny or delay our petition, then we
should be treated fairly by the County government, and granted
our petition.
