Since
the May 10, 1988 Public Hearing the City has had an opportunity to meet with the
Petitioner's to obtain additional information about the rezoning application and
the development plans. At this time the City has determined that it will not
oppose the rezoning of the subject property. The City has determined that
annexation of the subject property into the City's corporate limits is not
possible at the present time. However, the subject property is located within
thousand (1,000) feet of the City's existing corporate limits and it is within the
City's urban service area. The City's recently enacted Comprehensive Plan shows
the subject property as being developed sometime within the next ten to twenty
year period.
If the County votes to approve the rezoning request the City of Sun Prairie
strongly recommends that the proposed development be required to construct all of
the public improvements in full compliance with the City of Sun Prairie's Land
Division Ordinance. This would include the street improvements along Old Town
Road and the proposed new street. In addition, the City's Land Division Ordinance
requires all underground improvements (water & sewer) to be installed for future
hook up to City water and sewer services. These requirements were discussed in
detail with the Petitioners and it is our understanding that they are willing to
comply with these public improvement requirements. It is also our understanding
that the Petitioner's are interested in annexing the subject property into the
City of Sun Prairie when the City limits are continuous with the subject property.
Again thank you for providing the City with the opportunity to comment on
this rezoning petition.
fp-ly o rs,
Paul T.
