RMT, Inc.
Suite 124
1406 East Washington Ave.
Madison, WI53703-3009
Phone: 608-255-2134
FAX:608-255-0234
May 27, 1988
Mr. Bill Fleck
Dane County Zoning
City -County Building, Room 116
210 Martin Luther King, Jr. , Blvd.
Madison, WI 53709
Dear Mr. Fleck:
Re: Petition #4271, C.U.P. 573
On May 10, 1988; on behalf of Mr. Elmer Jungbluth, an application for
rezoning and conditional use for "MINERAL EXTRACTION" on his property located
in approximately the south 1/2 of the SE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section 8 T7N,
R8E Town of Middleton, was submitted. Initially the area was defined as
approximately 20 acres.
Since initial application, further discussions with the Zoning Department
have defined the southern 400-feet more or less of this 20 acres to be
wetland, more detailed soil testing has been completed, and plans have been
revised to avoid the wetland area with extraction activities. Therefore, as
we understand it rezoning is not needed, and only conditional use is required
as the land is now zoned A-1.
Therefore, this letter and attachments describe the mineral extraction
activities in accordance with Section 10.12(2)(a) and 10.126(2)(a) for
CONDITIONAL USE of the approximate 14-acre area of land from which soil is
proposed to be removed (see Figure 3).
The soil to be extracted is needed immediately for construction, and we
therefore request immediate approve of this C.U.P. , at the June 14, 1988
public hearing, if possible.
First, What's Enclosed?
Figure 1, 2, & 3 show the approximate 14 acre area on which we
are requesting the C.U.P. and the approximate 10.75 acre area.
Attachment 1 is a legal description.
Figure 2 shows property ownership.
Figure 3 is a site plan showing existing USGS contours and
approximate proposed contours, as well as other pertinent
features such as existing access, approximate wetland areas,
dimensions of the proposed mineral extraction area, etc.
1169.01:REFUSE:fleck:05/24/88 JUN O Iflea
HEGEIVED
ZONING DIV.
Engineering and Environmental Management Services -.
