Regarding Zoning Petition No. 3860
Page 2
The 1981 adopted Dane County Farmland Preservation Plan shows this area
as a Sewered Urban Service Area whose purpose is to provide areas for
urban development on public sewer, water and other necessary urban
services. Rezoning for development now would be premature.
The City's official map shows a major greenway extending north and south
within the westerly half of the rezoned area. This could be a serious
conflict with the proposal .
For all these reasons, we respectfully request that your committee
reject this rezoning request. This type of development should occur on
a site within the Urban Service Area where there are adequate urban
services available to support this type of use and at a location
consistent with Land Use Plans.
Sincerely;
4aM
Austin; Secretary
Madison Plan Commission
GEA:jij/2/11
cc: Steve Anderson, Mayor's Office
Ed Tailard, Town of Middleton, 7296 Old Sauk Road-53562
Norb Scribner, Dane Co. Plat Review, Room 116, City-County Bldg.
Ald. Ron Trachtenberg, District 21
Committee members
