Norwell , P.E . , Assistant Commissioner <br /> DATE: May 12 , 1987 <br /> SUBJECT Public Hearing, May 12 , 1987 <br /> We have reviewed the items that you will consider at your <br /> public hearing on May 12 , 1987 . We offer the following <br /> comments on the petitions that affect the County highway <br /> system. <br /> Petition 3941 . This portion of CTH "BB" is not access <br /> controlled, but a driveway permit must be obtained from this <br /> office if the most easterly R-1A parcel intends to be served <br /> by an access to "BB" . <br /> Petition 3945 . This portion of CTH "M" is access controlled, <br /> and an access permit and approval must be obtained from this <br /> department if direct access is desired to "M" . See a copy of <br /> our attached comments to Lee Madden of Sieger Associates <br /> relative to a design concept that was submitted to us in <br /> April on this development . These comments were made at the <br /> request of the Town of Westport. <br /> Petition 3947 . Both CTH "PD" and CTH "M" are controlled <br /> access highways and access permits and approvals must be <br /> obtained from this department if direct accesses are desired <br /> to either or both of the highways . We had preliminary <br /> discussions with the University early this year on their <br /> access requirements for their golf course , but we haven' t <br /> heard anything from them to date on their final access <br /> requests . Some improvements to CTH "M" and "PD" may be <br /> required to accommodate their accesses , and those will have <br /> to be at the University' s expense . <br /> Petition 3948 . CTH "W" is not access controlled, and we <br /> would have no problem with the land owner dividing the <br /> existing residences from the farm. <br />
