I
However, should the Board feel that an airstrip is appropriate,
we feel strongly that the nature of this facility be clearly outlined.
The Applicant stated that their intent is to develop the airstrip
for their own personal use; if this is the case, presumably they
should have no hesitation regarding stating this in writing. To not
do so would imply that at some point the airstrip might in fact be
developed into a larger enterprise.
To this end, (ie, to insure that the airstrip be limited to a
personal use facility that would have minimal impact to the detriment,
the character, and the quality of life of the surrounding neighbor-
hood, ) we suggest that the following commitments be made by the
developers:
1 . The airstrip and facilities would not be rented or leased
out to other planes or pilots, including use of facilities
and/or landing rights.
2 . The airstrip would never be other than grass; not paved,
stone or gravel .
3 . Lights or fences would never be installed.
4. A future owner would re-apply for a conditional use permit.
5 . The airstrip be personal in nature, but be designated private
restricted with the appropriate uses and restrictions written
out within the permit. (Mr. Weiman may permit guests to use
the airstrip. )
6 . Only permit holder / land owners aircraft will be kept at
the airstrip.
7. No crop dusting equipment will use this airstrip except
in emergency situations.
8. No trees on neighboring property will be removed to facilitate
the use of the airstrip without the owners permission.
9. Number of landings and takeoffs be limited (3 or .4,per week)
by all planes other than the owners.
10. Number of owners aircraft and visitors aircraft be limited
to not more than three.
