,'' "Tionuri
Jeff and Annette Anderson
1456 Hwy 78 South Mt.Horeb,WI 53572(608)437-4670
Dane County Zoning and Natural Resources Committee
Attention Chairperson Helen Johnson
City County Building
210 Martin Luther King Drive
Madison, WI 53709
RE: Conditional Use Permit Request #1577
James and Nancy Murphy
Dear Chairperson Johnson:
The purpose of this letter is to express my support for the Conditional Use Permit
Application by James and Nancy Murphy for the Riley Tavern. For nearly eighteen years we lived
a short distance from the Riley Tavern in the Township of Cross Plains. Until our recent move, I
served on the Town Planning Commission.
We have come to know the Murphys very well and have found Murph and Nanc to be two
of the hardest working businesspersons around. They take an incredible pride in how they run
their establishment, personally putting in long hours, in order to maintain the Riley Tavern as a
First Class establishment.
.
More importantly, however, is their commitment to the community in which they live.
They are very generous individuals who have supported countless charitable causes over the
years, without publicity or recognition. The Riley Tavern has become more than a business; it's
become almost a community center for the Riley area. I am confident that the granting of CUP
#1577 would in no way detract from Murph and Nanc's commitment to the community.
Thank you for your favorable consideration of their application.
Ve Truly yours,
Anderson
cc: Committee Members
I
