CALL TO ORDER: <br /> Chair Schulz called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. in Room 309 of the City-County Building <br /> and made an announcement regarding Public Hearing rules and procedures followed by the Board. <br /> II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> Chair Schulz stated that approval of the Minutes of the March 13, 2007 Site Visits and the March 27, <br /> 2007 Public Hearing of the Dane County Board of Adjustment would be tabled until after the Public <br /> Hearing because Board Member Hamre needed to leave early to attend another public meeting, and <br /> the three members present were the minimum for a quorum of the Board. <br /> III. PUBLIC HEARING FOR APRIL 24, 2008 APPEALS <br /> 1. Appeal 3523. Appeal by Thomas J. and Barbara Lowe for variances from minimum required lot <br /> width at the building setback line and minimum required lot area for an existing substandard platted lot <br /> in the Shoreland District as provided by Sections 11.03(1) and 10.05(4), Dane County Code of <br /> Ordinances, to permit additions to single-family residence as constructed at 7876 Fish Lake Road, <br /> being Lot 10, Gaukel's Fish Lake Subdivision, Section 03, Town of Roxbury. <br /> COMMUNICATIONS: Town of Roxbury—03/13/2008 Acknowledgement; 04/23/2008 Email from <br /> Robert Pings, Clerk: "Town of Roxbury has no problem with the variance request from Thomas & <br /> Barbara Lowe as long they have all county permits. They have Town permits." <br /> 04/24/2008 Email from Cami Peterson, Water Regulations and Zoning Specialist, WDNR: "No <br /> comments." <br /> VARIANCES REQUESTED: Purpose: Allow additions/alterations to single-family home, as <br /> constructed. <br /> Variances needed for: <br /> Minimum required lot area: 20,000 SF <br /> Actual Lot Area: 16,604 +- SF <br /> NEEDS VARIANCE: 3,396 +- SF <br /> Minimum required lot width at the building setback line 100 feet <br /> Actual Lot width at building setback line: 69.95 feet <br /> NEEDS VARIANCE: 30.05 feet <br /> IN FAVOR: Tom & Barbara Lowe, Sauk City, WI and Cary, II, owners <br /> OPPOSED: None <br /> Motion: Long/Hamre to grant variance of 3,396 more or less square feet from minimum required <br /> 20,000 square feet lot area and variance of 30.05 more or less square feet from minimum required <br /> 100 feet lot width at the building setback line to allow replacement of the shed and stoop additions on <br /> existing footprints and other structural alterations to the Lowes' home as built. <br /> Finding of Fact: <br /> 1. The Lowe's lot, zoned R-3 Residential, is in the Shoreland district of Fish Lake. It has 16,604 <br /> square feet of lot area and 69.95 feet at the building setback line. The original lot, platted in 1957, <br /> showed 70.00 feet of lot width at the right-of-way (ROW) line. <br />
