ORDER OF ESTABLISHMENT OF A SCHOOL DISTRICT
<br /> The Joint County School Committee of Dane and Iowa Counties, State of Wisconsin,
<br /> acting pursuant to provisions of s. 40.02 (5), s. 40.025 (2) and s. 40.03 and
<br /> in compliance with a resolution adopted at a legal meeting of said Joint Com-
<br /> mittee held at Madison, at 8 o'clock in the afternoon of the 17th day of July,
<br /> 1965, and precedent thereto, the said Joint County School Committee having
<br /> held a formal hearing on the 10th day of August, 1965, and subsequent thereto
<br /> having held a conference with the school boards of the districts involved all
<br /> being in accordance with the provisions of the aforementioned statutes, it is
<br /> hereby ordered that the following designated districts be dissolved, to wit:
<br /> The Mt. Horeb Union High School District, Villages of Mt. Horeb and
<br /> Blue Mounds and the Towns of Blue Mounds, Cross Plains, Perry, Primrose,
<br /> Springdale, and Vermont, of Dane County, and the Town of Moscow, of
<br /> Iowa County,
<br /> The Molint Horeb Elementary School District, Jt. 1, Village of Mount Horeb
<br /> and Towns of Springdale, Blue Mounds, Cross Plains, Perry and Vermont,
<br /> Dane County,
<br /> The Spring Valley School District, No. 4, Town of Perry, Dane County,
<br /> The Forward School District, No. 5, Town of Perry, Dane County,
<br /> The Riley School District, Jt. 4, Towns of Springdale and Cross Plains,
<br /> Dane County,
<br /> The Blue Mounds School District, Jt, 2) Blue Mounds Village and Towns of
<br /> Blue Mounds and Vermont, Dane County,
<br /> The Daleyville School District, Jt. 7, Towns of Perry, Blue Mounds, Dane
<br /> County, and Moscow, Iowa County,
<br /> The Ridgeview School District, Jt. 3, Towns of Springdale and Cross Plains,
<br /> Dane County,
<br /> The LaFollette Heights School District, Jt. 5, Towns of Primrose, Perry,
<br /> and Springdale, Dane County,
<br /> and to create a Common School District Jt. No. 6, Villages of Mount Horeb and
<br /> Blue Mounds and Towns of Blue Mounds, Cross Plains, Perry, Primrose, Springdale,
<br /> Vermont, County of Dane, and Town of Moscow, Iowa County, State of Wisconsin,
<br /> to operate elementary and high school grades.

<br /> It is further ordered that said Common School District Jt. No. 6 shall comprise
<br /> the territory consisting of the above aforesaid dissolved districts and is
<br /> hereby created to operate both elementary and high school grades, being kinder-
<br /> garten through 12 grade.

<br /> The School Board of the newly created district shall consist of 7 members elected
<br /> pursuant to section 40.26 (8) Wisconsin Statutes. Three of these members shall
<br /> reside in the Village of Mount Horeb. One member shall reside in the Village
<br /> of Blue Mounds, Townships of Blue Mounds and Vermont area. One member shall
<br /> reside in the Townships of Springdale and Cross Plains area. One member shall
<br /> reside in the Townships of Primrose, Perry and Moscow area. One member shall
<br /> be elected at large and reside in the rural area outside the Village of Mount
<br /> Horeb.
<br /> This order becomes effective on the 13th day of September, 1965.
<br /> The first district meeting of said designated school district shall be held at
<br /> the Mount Horeb High School on the 11th day of October, 1965, beginning at
<br /> 8 o'clock in the afternoon and it is hereby ordered that the election procedures
<br /> must be in accordance with Wisconsin Statutes and that the polls must be open
<br /> from 1 P.M. to 8 P.M. (40.27) on October 11, 1965, which allows ample time for
<br /> candidates to declare their intention to run for school office. The Wisconsin
<br /> Statutes provide that the declaration of candidates must be filed 20 days
<br /> prior to the Annual Meeting. 40.27 (2) (e)
