of <br />The clerk of the town, village or city in which the greatest number of electors <br />reside shall act as clerk of the election and declaration of candidacy shall be <br />filed with him. He shall cause notice of the election to be given as provided by <br />the statutes which govern municipal elections. Such clerk shall have charge of <br />the election and provide all necessary materials and equipment to conduct the <br />same in a manner similar to that used for conducting municipal elections.
