There are two petitions pending; one is intended to allow for a <br /> roadside stand for the "retail sale of nursery stock, cut flowers, stems, organic produce, <br /> gourds, pumpkins, pots and related items such as topsoil, mulch, organic fertilizers and <br /> products in a "farm market" type setting"(Petition #8501) and one is intended to "to <br /> continue to use agricultural nursery buildings to pot, grow and maintain plants and <br /> implements for use in nursery production area" (Petition #8623). The history of these <br /> cases is fairly lengthy, but the timeline below shows in detail each document or event <br /> relating to this matter. <br /> • October 29,2001: Kris met with Liza regarding proposed roadside stand. <br /> • November 21,2001: Letter from Jim to Liza regarding proposed roadside stand stating that the <br /> October 29,2001 proposal did not meet ordinance standards,but if standards <br /> could be met a roadside stand is a permitted use in A-1 EX. <br /> • December 5,2001: Complaint regarding Liza's property. Specifically,stating that the landscaping <br /> business has expanded beyond 12 items of equipment and beyond the 1.57 acre <br /> LC-1 zoned area. <br /> • December 7,2001: Letter from Liza to Kris regarding proposed roadside stand. <br /> • December 17,2001: Letter from Liza to Kris regarding proposed roadside stand. <br /> • February 20,2002: Complaint regarding Liza's property. Specifically,stating that the landscaping <br /> business has expanded beyond 12 items of equipment and beyond the 1.57 acre <br /> LC-1 zoned area. <br /> • February 22,2002: Letter from Kris Schutte to Liza regarding proposed roadside stand. Stating in <br /> summary additional requirements for roadside stands(the most significant <br /> addition of substance was that the sale of shrubs,trees and the like are <br /> prohibited). <br /> • March 11,2002: Liza filed a Notice of Intent to change the zoning of 3 acres from A-1 EX to A- <br /> B with the Town of Cottage Grove. <br /> • March 13,2002: Letter from Liza to Jim recapping meeting of March 11,2002. <br /> • March 27,2002: Letter from Pat Anderson to Liza regarding zoning violation on land adjacent to <br /> LC-1 zoning parcel. The violations identified were as follows: <br /> o Expansion of business outside of LC-1 zoned area <br /> • Storage bins for landscape materials(manure,stones,etc.) <br />
