There are two petitions pending; one is intended to allow for a roadside stand for the "retail sale of nursery stock, cut flowers, stems, organic produce, gourds, pumpkins, pots and related items such as topsoil, mulch, organic fertilizers and products in a "farm market" type setting"(Petition #8501) and one is intended to "to continue to use agricultural nursery buildings to pot, grow and maintain plants and implements for use in nursery production area" (Petition #8623). The history of these cases is fairly lengthy, but the timeline below shows in detail each document or event relating to this matter. • October 29,2001: Kris met with Liza regarding proposed roadside stand. • November 21,2001: Letter from Jim to Liza regarding proposed roadside stand stating that the October 29,2001 proposal did not meet ordinance standards,but if standards could be met a roadside stand is a permitted use in A-1 EX. • December 5,2001: Complaint regarding Liza's property. Specifically,stating that the landscaping business has expanded beyond 12 items of equipment and beyond the 1.57 acre LC-1 zoned area. • December 7,2001: Letter from Liza to Kris regarding proposed roadside stand. • December 17,2001: Letter from Liza to Kris regarding proposed roadside stand. • February 20,2002: Complaint regarding Liza's property. Specifically,stating that the landscaping business has expanded beyond 12 items of equipment and beyond the 1.57 acre LC-1 zoned area. • February 22,2002: Letter from Kris Schutte to Liza regarding proposed roadside stand. Stating in summary additional requirements for roadside stands(the most significant addition of substance was that the sale of shrubs,trees and the like are prohibited). • March 11,2002: Liza filed a Notice of Intent to change the zoning of 3 acres from A-1 EX to A- B with the Town of Cottage Grove. • March 13,2002: Letter from Liza to Jim recapping meeting of March 11,2002. • March 27,2002: Letter from Pat Anderson to Liza regarding zoning violation on land adjacent to LC-1 zoning parcel. The violations identified were as follows: o Expansion of business outside of LC-1 zoned area • Storage bins for landscape materials(manure,stones,etc.)
