NO. 36, 1987-88 AMENDING CHAPTER 10 OF THE DANE COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES, RELATING TO 1011#RZef:T -5 - RAIr-FieME=S—D-1 S-TR-I-eTa, REVISED DEFINITIONS AND AMENDMENT OF AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT REGULATIONS The County Board of Supervisors of the County of Dane does ordain as follows : ARTICLE 1: All references herein to sections are to those of the Dane County Code of Ordinances unless otherwise expressed stated. ARTICLE 2: Section 10 . 01 ( 3) is amended to read as follows: ( 3 ) "Animal unit" . One a,)' animal unit shall be defined as being the equivalent of OS %1% cow, '00' x4% hogs , 10 sheep, 10 • goats , 100 poultry, OX0 %l% horse, O$O ,('l% pony, 4;40 ØyØ ,('11 mule or 100 rabbits or an equivalent combination thereof . [EXPLANATION: This amendment changes the definition of 'animal unit ° as shown. ] ARTICLE 3: Section 10 . 01( 5m) is created to read as follows : ( 5m) "Bee Keeping" . Keeping of more than 1 hive for each 10, 000 square feet of lot or parcel area. [EXPLANATION: This amendment creates a definition for 'bee keeping ' and has the effect of allowing beekeeping when the density of hives is 1 or less for each 10, 000 square feet . ] ARTICLE 4: Section 10 . 01 ( 30a) is amended to read as follows : ( 30a) "Livestock" . Livestock shall include but is not 00 limited to cows, sheep, goats, hogs, draft horses, pleasure horses and ponies, mules and poultry. For purposes of this ordinance 100 or more rabbits shall be considered livestock and subject to the regulations pertaining to the keeping of livestock .
