1(20) "ground" shall mean the average elevation of the ground upon which the <br /> sign supports are placed, except when the sign supports rest upon a berm or <br /> other area elevated above the surrounding ground. In such cases, the average <br /> elevation of the base of such berm or other area shall be considered as the <br /> ground. <br /> (21) "ground sign" shall mean a freestanding sign mounted on supports or <br /> uprights and whose bottom edge is less than 8 feet above the ground. <br /> (22) "group sign" shall mean a sign displaying the names of a group of <br /> businesses which are located in the same locale such as a city, village, <br /> shopping center, office or commercial park, etc. <br /> (23) "home occupation sign" shall mean a sign which advertises a permitted <br /> home occupation. <br /> (24) "intersection" shall mean the point at which the right-of-way lines meet <br /> or, for highway interchanges, the beginning and ending points of the on and <br /> off ramps. A "T" intersection shall be considered the same as a four-way <br /> intersection in the determination of the required distance of signs from said <br /> intersection. <br /> (25) "limited family business sign" shall mean a sign which advertises a <br /> permitted limited family business. <br /> (26) "logo" shall mean an emblem, symbol or trademark identification placed <br /> on signs. <br /> (27) "marquee sign" shall mean a sign mounted on an overhanging canopy of a <br /> theater, auditorium, fairground, museum or other such use. <br /> (28) "mobile or portable sign" shall mean a sign mounted on a frame or <br /> chassis designed to be easily relocated and not permanently affixed to the <br /> ground or other structure. <br /> (29) "off-premise advertising sign" shall mean a sign which directs attention <br /> to a business, commodity, service, or entertainment conducted, sold, or <br /> offered elsewhere than upon the premises where the sign is displayed. <br /> (30) "on-premise advertising sign" shall mean a sign which directs attention <br /> to a business, commodity, service, items, or entertainment, sold, offered or <br /> conducted on the same premises that the sign is located. <br /> (31) "parking lot sign" shall mean an auxiliary sign that lists the rules and <br /> regulations for the parking lot. <br /> (32) "political sign" shall mean a sign whose message relates to a political <br /> party, a candidate for public office or a political issue. <br /> (33) "projecting sign" shall mean an on-premise advertising sign, other than <br /> a wall sign which is attached to and projects out from a wall or a building. <br /> (34) "pylon sign" shall mean a freestanding sign erected upon one or more <br /> pylons or posts whose bottom edge is greater than eight feet above ground <br /> level. <br /> a� <br />
