• <br /> - ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT #1796 <br /> Amending the text of the Dane County Zoning Ordinance (Chapter 10) . <br /> • <br /> The Dane County Board of Supervisors does ordain as follows: • <br /> Create a new 10.01 (38a) to read' as 'follows: <br /> (38a) Pleasure horses: _ all horses' and ponies which are kept or raised for purposes <br /> of riding by residents of the property-or .their guests but not including horses or <br /> ponies kept or raised for the purpose of commercial breeding, sale or as beasts of <br /> burden or draft animals and also not including horses or ponies which are kept on <br /> the property for another for a boarding fee-or horses or ponies which are offered <br /> to the public for riding purposes upon payment of a fee. <br /> Repeal 10.09 and recreate to read as follows: <br /> • <br /> 10.09 RH-1 RURAL HOMES DISTRICT <br /> (1) PERMITTED USES <br /> • <br /> (a) Single family residences. <br /> (b) Keeping•of pleasure horses, subject to the special provisions of this <br /> section. <br /> (c) Home occupations. • <br /> (d) Utility services. <br /> (e) Uses and buildings clearly incidental and necessary to.a permitted use <br /> on the premises. <br /> • (2) CONDITIONAL USES PERMITTED IN THE RH-1 RURAL- HOMES DISTRICT <br /> ■ (a) Institutions for children, day care centers. <br /> (b) Group foster homes. <br /> (3) BUILDING HEIGHT LIMIT <br /> (a) Residential buildings shall not exceed 2 1/2 stories or 35 feet. <br /> (4) LOT WIDTH AND AREA <br /> (a) Th.e minimum lot width shall be 150 feet to be measured at the front <br /> building line of a residence, also at the location of any accessory building <br /> for the housing of pleasure horses. The minimum lot 'area shall be not less <br /> than 2 acres. . <br /> (5) LOT COVERAGE <br /> (a) No residential building together with its. accessory buildings shall cover ' <br /> in excess of 10% of the lot area and no single accessory building area :shal1 <br /> exceed the floor area of the residence on the property. <br /> • <br /> (6) SETBACK REQUIREMENTS • <br /> (a) Setback from front 'lot line or highway right-of-way line shall conform <br /> to the requirements of Section 10.17. <br /> (7) SIDE YARD REQUIREMENTS <br /> (a) - For residential buildings there shall be a total of 25 feet of side <br /> yards and no single side yard shall be less than 10 feet. <br /> (b) Accessory buildings for the housing of pleasure horses shall be located <br /> not less than 50 feet from any side lot line. • <br /> (c) Other accessory buildings shall be located not less than 10 feet from any <br /> side lot line. <br /> • <br /> • <br />
