General provisions ' (a) Signs shall not .be designed and inst'alled- to imitate or simulate any high- way -marker., signal or traffic control sign. • (b) Signs shall not have .any .flashing dr .rotating lights. • (c) Signs shall .not :be placed, to obscure the vision of any official highway marker, .signal or traffic..con.trol sign. • (d) A railroad' crossing shall be considered the same as a highway intersection. (e) Signs shall. :not` be attached to trees, fence post or fence or utility struc- tures and :shall not. be painted on a rock or other natural object. (f) Signs shall. be kept in a good state of repair:' (g) Th'e provisions of this ordinance.. which define. permitted locations of signa along the public roads- and highways are held to be the minimum standards to insure safety on the .public ,roads and highways. (2) Permits (a) .Permits are required for the installation_ or. erection of advertising signs, billboard, posterboards and directory signs. (b) The application for a permit to install or erect' a .si:gn shall contain such information as required by .the Zoning Supervisor. -' (c) `.Phe fee for .the erection or installation of advertising signs, billboards, . posterboards and directory, signs-`shall. be Five Dollars .(91,5.00) per One hundred (100) square feet or fraction thereof. . (d). "Chi issuance of a permit to erect or install a sign subject to, a,permit, the Zoning Supervisor shall issue'a suitable identification tag to 'be placed on the sign as to be visible from the highway.-. (3) : Annual permits (a) All signs for which a permit is required to erect or installed shall be sub- ject to an annual fee .and permit.
