SECTION 10.01 <br /> (19) Family: Any number of individuals related by blood or marriage, or not to exceed <br /> five (5) persons not so related, living:. together on the premises as a single house- <br /> keeping unit, including any domestic servants. <br /> (20) Garage, Private: An accessory building Or accessory. portion Of the main building, <br /> used, or designed or intended to be used for the storage of private motor vehicles be- <br /> longing to the family or families resident .on the premises, and in which no business, <br /> service or industry connected directly or indirectly with motor vehicles is carried on, <br /> and provided that not more than one-half of the space may be rented for private vehicles <br /> of persons not resident on the premises, except that all of the space in a garage having <br /> a capacity of not more than two cars may be so rented. Not more than one commercial. <br /> vehicle may be stored in such garage and such commercial vehicle shall not exceed two <br /> and one-half (230. tons capacity and must belong to a family or member of a family <br /> resident on the premises. <br /> (21) Garage, Public: Any building, structure or premises used for the -repair, servicing <br /> or storage of motor vehicles for the general public. ' No building or premises used for <br /> the sale, display for sale, of motor vehicles or trailers, where no repairs or mechani- <br /> cal work is done, shall be considered a public garage for the purposes of this ordinance. <br /> (22) Home; Occupation: Any occupation for gain or profit conducted only by members of the <br /> family resident upon the premises,provided that no articles may be sold. or offered for. <br /> sale except those produced on the premises, and no article may be displayed so as to be <br /> visible from the street or highway. Home occupations may include. doctors and dentists, <br /> music teachers, weaving, knitting and similar activities, and when approved by the state <br /> board •of health, may include barber shops and beauty parlors. The buying and selling <br /> of any article will not be deemed a proper home occupation.. <br /> (23) Hotel: A building in which board and lodging are provided to the transient public <br /> for compensation. <br /> (2+) 'Junk or. Salvage: Any item, material or product Which is no longer,usable as was <br /> originally intended. An automobile, truck or other motor vehicle may be considered for <br /> purposes of this ordinance as junk if it is not currently licensed and has had any of <br /> its parts removed or is not in operating condition. <br /> (25) Lodging House: A. building in which lodging. accomodations are provided by previous <br /> arrangement for definite periods of time to four (1+)` or more but-not to exceed twelve <br /> (12) individuals not members of the family. <br /> (26) Lot: "A parcel of land occupied or intended to be occupied by one building and its <br /> accessory buildings and uses, except as otherwise provided herein. A lot. may be a <br /> parcel designated in a plat or described in a conveyance recorded in the office of the <br /> register of deeds, or any part of a larger parcel when such part complies with the re= <br /> quirements of this ordinance as to width and area for the district in which it is <br /> located. No lands included in any street, highway or railroad right-of-way shall be <br /> included when computing area. <br /> (27) lot, Corner A lot located at the intersection of two" streets, .any two corners of <br /> which form an angle of one hundred twenty (120) .degrees or less, or is bounded by a <br /> curved street any two chords of which on the inside of the curve form an angle ,of one <br /> hundred twenty (120) degrees or less. <br /> (28) Lot, Interior: A lot which is not a corner lot. <br /> (29) Lot, Lines:` The lines bounding a lot as described herein. <br /> (30) Lot Width: For purposes of this ordinance the 'width of a lot shall be the shortest <br /> distance between the ,side lines at the setback line. On triangular or irregular shaped <br /> lots the width shalL be -the shortest distance between the side lines of the lot at the <br /> building line. Such ':building line may be the setback line of a line designated on a <br /> plat, or in. a conveyance of an un'platted parcel. On farm lands, where the distance <br /> between side lines may vary, the distance between the side lines at the point where <br /> - 3 - <br />
