SECTION 10.47; 10.48; 10.49 (a) Temporary signs shall be removed not later than 7 days after the last day on which an event occurred. Political signs for both the primary and general election shall be removed not later than 15 days following the general election for which they were posted. (44) Permitted zoning districts (a) All zoning districts. • '10.48 CROP DEMONSTRATION SIGNS (1) Size of signs (a) Crop demonstration signs shall not exceed 8 square feet in area. (2) Location of signs (a) Crop demonstration signs shall be located on the same premises as the crop used. A separate sign for each seed or plant variety being grown is permitted. A separate sign for each fertilizer, herbicide, pesti- cide or insecticide being used is permitted. Signs may designate a variety or brand name and shall not direct attention to a dealer or place where such products are sold. (3) Removal of signs (a) Crop demonstration signs shall be removed not later than 10 days following crop harvest. Commercial and Light Manufacturing District (f) M-1 Industrial District (g) CO-1 Conservancy District 10.49 GENERAL PROVISIONS AND PERMITS ' • ` (1) General provisions (a) Signs shall not be designed and installed to imitate or simulate any highway marker, signal or traffic control sign. (b) Signs shall not have any flashing or rotating lights. (c) Signs shall not be placed to obscure the vision of any official highway marker, signal or traffic control sign. (d) A railroad crossing shall be considered the same as a highway- intersection. (e) Signs shall not be attached to trees, fence post or fence or utility structures and shall not be painted on a rock or other natural object. (f) Signs shall be kept in a good state of repair. (g) The provisions of this ordinance which define permitted locations of signs along the public roads and highways are held to be the minimum standards to insure safety on the public roads and highways. (2) Permits (a) Permits are required for the installation or erection of advertising signs, billboard, posterboards and directory signs. (b) The application for a permit to install or erect a sign shall contain such information as required by the Zoning Supervisor. (c) The fee for the erection or installation of advertising signs, billboards, posterboards and directory Isigns shall be Five Dollars ($5.00) per one hundred (100) square feet or fraction thereof. (d) On issuance of a permit to erect or install a sign subject to a permit, the Zoning supervisor shall issue a suitable identification tag to be placed on the sign as to be visible from the highway.
