SECTION 10.119 permit. The permit issued for the erection or installation of a sign shall be the annual permit until Decem- ber 31 of the year in which the permit is issued. The annual fee shall be Five Dollars ($5.00) per one hundred (100) square feet or fraction thereof. The permits shall be issued on an annual basis with the per- mit year being from the first day of January to the 31st day of December next succeeding. The fee shall not be prorated for a part of the year. Each year the Zoning Supervisor shall notify each sign owner by mail not less than fifteen days (15) before the expiration date of the annual permit Of' its expiration. Upon payment of the annual permit fee, the Zoning Supervisor shall issue a suitable identification tag to be attached to the sign or sign post to be visible from the highway, such tag shall be attached within 30 days of its receipt by the sign owner. (4) Removal of certain signs (a) Any sign now or hereafter existing which no longer advertises a bonafide business or a product available shall be removed within thirty (30) days after notification by certified mail by the Zoning Supervisor to the owner of the sign. • (b) Any sign for which the annual permit fee is not paid by the 10th day of January, shall be removed within thirty (30) days after notification by certified mail by the Zoning Supervisor to the owner of the sign. (c) If the order for removal of a sign sent to the sign owner is not deliverable by certified mail, the notice shall be sent by certified mail to the owner of the land on which the sign is located. (5) Amortisation of non-conforming signs (a) Any sign now in existence which was installed or erected before June 27, 1962 and does not conform to the provisions of this amendment shall be made to conform to the provisions of this amendment within one year of the effective date of this amendment or at the end of one year shall be ordered removed by the Zoning Supervisor under procedures outlined in (4) above. (b) Any sign in existence which was installed or erected since June 27, 1962 and for which a permit has been issued by the Zoning Supervisor shall be made to conform to the provisions of this amendment within 3 years . of the effective date of this amendment or at the end of 3 years shall be ordered removed by the Zoning Supervisor under procedures outlined in (ti) above. (c) Any sign in existence which was installed or erected since June 27, 1962 and for which a permit has never been issued by the Zoning Supervisor shall be made to conform to the provisions of this amendment within 90 days of the effective date of this amendment or at the end of 90 days shall be ordered removed by the Zoning Supervisor under procedures outlined in () ) above. • • • \\\\ - 36 - 1
