Jum e 17, 193 ° A Zoning Ordinance enacted pi rs :ant to the provisions of Sections 59.97 and 59.99 of the statutes and providing penalties for the violation of its provisions. The Board bf Supervisors of Dane County does ordain_ as follows: SECTION I. DEFINITIONS For the purposes of this ordinance, follows: certain words and terms are defined as Words used in the present tense include the future, words in the singular number include the plural- numbe -r -_and words i_n_t_he__plural number include the singular number; the word "building" includes the word "structure %, the word "shall" is .mandatory and not directory. - -- _ - - Accessory Building: A supplemental building or portions of the main building, the use of which is incidental to the main building. Club: An association or group of persons organized for some common purpose but not including such association or groups organized to render a service which is customarily carried on as a business. District: A part or parts of Dane County for which the regulations relating to the use of land and buildings are uniform. Dwelling, Single Family:' A detached building designed for and occupied ex- clusively by one (1) family. Dwelling, Multiple Family: A building or portions thereof used or intended to'bo used by two (2) or more families. Family: Several individuals living together and cooking on the premises as a single housekeeping unit, together with all necessary employees of the family. Garage, Public: A building or portion thereof used for the housing or care of more than three (3) self - propelled vehicles or whore any such vehicles are e equipped or repaired for rmuneration or kept for hire. Home Occupation: A gainful occupation conducted by members of the family only, within its place of residence, provided that the space used is incidental to residential use and that no article is sold or offered for sale except such as is produced by such home occupations.
