DEFINITIOITS <br />For the purposes of this ordinance, certain words and terms are defined as <br />follows: <br />Words used in the present tense include the future, words in the singular <br />number include the plural number and words in the plural number include the <br />singular number; the word "building" includes the word "structure ", the word <br />"shall" is mandatory and not directory. <br />Accessory Building: A supplemental building or portions of the main building, <br />the use of which is- incidental to the main building. <br />Boarding house: A building other than a hotel where meals are sold, pursuant <br />to•previous arrangement and not to anyone who may apply, for five (5) or more <br />persons not members of the far_ily. <br />Building: kgthing constructed arid. designed to stand more or less permanently <br />and occupying a space of laude When a building is separated by divisions walls, <br />without openings, from the.ground•up, each portion of such building shall be <br />deemed a separate building. <br />Building;'Front of: Thu side of a building which faces toward Uie principal <br />road, street, high.-vray or way sorving the sarae. <br />Club: An association or group of persons organized for some common purpose <br />but not including such association or groups organized to render a service which <br />is customarily carried on•as a business. <br />District: A part or parts of Dcaao County for which the regulations relating <br />to the use of land and buildings are uniform. <br />Dwelling, Single Family:* A detached building designed for and occupied ex- <br />clusively by one (1) family. <br />Dwelling, Multiple Family: A building or portions thereof used or intended <br />to be used by two (2) or more families. <br />Family: Several individuals living •togethor and cooking on the promises as a <br />single housekeeping unit, together with all necessary omployeos of the family. <br />Garage, Public: A building or portion thereof used for the housing or care <br />of more than three (3) self- propelled vehicles or where any such vehicles are <br />equipped or ropairod for rep unoration or kon-t for hire. <br />Home Occupation: A gainful occupation conducted by members of the family <br />only, within its place of residence, provided that the space used is incidental <br />to residential use and -that no article is sold or offorcd for sale except such <br />as is produced by such home occupations. <br />Lodging House: A building other than a hotel, where lodging only is provided <br />for componsation pursuant to previous arrangement and not to anyone who may <br />apply for five (5) or more persons not members of the family. <br />Non- conforming Use: A building or promises occupied by a use that does not <br />conform_ to the regulations of the district in which it is locatod. <br />r <br />Poadsido Stand: A farm structure used or intondod to bo used solely by the <br />owner or tenant of the farm on which it is located for the sale of only the <br />seasonal farm products of the imlaodiate locality in which such roadside stand <br />is located. <br />Setback Lines: Lines, established adjacent to highways for the purpose of <br />dofining limits within y,rhich no building or structure or any part thereof shall <br />be erected or permanently i- .intainod. "iIithin a setback line" means botweon the <br />sot-back line and the hi ghvray right of <br />-I- <br />
