I)efiniLions section 10.01 <br /> (17) Duplex: A residential building designed to be occupied by two families living inde- <br /> pendently of each other. <br /> • (18) Dwelling: <br /> (a) Single Family Dwelling: A building designed for and occupied exclusively as a residence <br /> for one family. <br /> (b) Multiple Family Dwelling: A building designed or intended to be used by more than two <br /> families living independently of each other. <br /> (19) Family: Any number of individuals related by blood or marriage, or not to exceed five <br /> (5) persons not so related, living together on the premises as n single housekeeping unit, in- <br /> cluding any domestic servants. <br /> (20) r)arage,:Private: An accessory building or accessory portion of the main building, used, <br /> ar designed or intended to be used for the storage of private motor vehicles belonging to the <br /> family or families resident on the premises, and in which no busirless,.service or industry con- <br /> nected directly or indirectly with motor vehicles is carried on, and provided that not more than <br /> one-half of the space may be rented for private vehicles of persons not resident on the prem- <br /> ises, except that all of the space in a garage having a capacity of not more than two cars may <br /> be so rented. Not more than one commercial vehicle may be stored in such garage and such <br /> commercial vehicle shall not exceed two and one-half (21/2) tons capacity and must belong to a <br /> family or member of a family resident on the premises. <br /> (21) Gargge, Public: Any building, structure or premises used for the repair, servicing or <br /> storage of motor vehicles for the general public. No building or premises used for the sale, dis- <br /> play for sale, of motor vehicles or trailers, where no repairs or mechanical work is done, shall <br /> be considered a public garage for the purposes of this ordinance. <br /> (72) Home Occupation: Any occupation for gain or profit conducted only by members of the <br /> family resident upon the premises, provided that no artciles may be sold or offered for sale <br /> except those produced on the premises, and no article may be displayed so as to be visible from <br /> the street or highway. home occupations may include doctors and dentists, music teachers, <br /> weaving, knitting and similar activities, and when approved by the state board of health, may <br /> include barber shops and beauty parlors. The buying and selling of any article will not be deemed <br /> a proper home occupation. <br /> (23) Hotel: A building in which hoard and .lodging are provided to the transict public for <br /> compensation. <br /> (24) Lodging House: A building in which lodging accomodations are provided by previous <br /> arrangement for definite periods of time to four (4) or more but not to exceed twelve (12) indiv- <br /> iduals not members of' the family. <br /> (25) Lot: A parcel of land occupied or intended to be occupied by one building and its access- <br /> ory buildings and uses, except as otherwise provided herein. A lot may be a parcel designated <br /> in a plat or described in a conveyance recorded in the office of the register of deeds, or any part <br /> of a larger parcel when such part complies with the requirements of this ordinance as to width <br /> and area for the district in which it is located. No lands included in any street, highway or <br /> railroad right of way shall he included when computing area. • <br /> (26) Lot, Corner: A lot located at the intersection of two streets, any two corners of which <br /> form an angle of' one hundred twenty (.120) degrees or less, or is bounded by a curved street, any <br /> • 3 <br /> • <br />
