A:11 <br /> DANE COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE <br /> BEING CHAPTER 10 OF THE ORDINANCES OF DANE COUNTY <br /> An ordinance to alter, supplement and change the boundaries and regulations contained <br /> in that certain ordinance adopted by the Dane County Board of Supervisors on July 20, <br /> 1938, as amended to and including October 25, 1949 which said ordinance is entitled <br /> " A zoning ordinance enacted pursuant to the provisions of Sections 59.97 and 59.99 <br /> of the statutes and providing penalties for the violation of its provisions". <br /> The Dane County Board of Supervisors does ordain as follows: <br /> Section 1. That certain ordinance adopted by the County Board of Supervisors of Dane <br /> County of July 20, 1938, as amended, the title to which is recited in the title to <br /> this ordinance, shall hereafter be known and numbered as Chapter 10, Dane County Ordi- <br /> nances, and as so entitled and numbered said title is amended to read as follows: <br /> An ordinance, to be known as Chapter 10, Dane. County Ordinances, regulating, restrict- <br /> ing and determining the location of trades and industries, the location, height, bulk, <br /> number of stories, and size of buildings and other structures, the percentage of lot <br /> which may be occupied, the size of yards and other open spaces, the density of pop- <br /> -- ulation, the location of buildings designed for specific uses; the areas along natural <br /> water courses, streams and creeks in which trades and industries and the location of <br /> buildings for specific uses may be prohibited; establishing setback lines; and est- <br /> ablishing districts of such number, shape and area deemed best suited to carry out the <br /> purposes of this ordinance as it applies to lands outside the limits of incorporated <br /> cities and villages in Dane County; and providing penalties, pursuant to the author- <br /> ization of Sections 59.97 and 59.99, Wisconsin Statutes. <br /> Section 2. Section 1 of the ordinance of July 20, 1938, the title to which is recite(: <br /> in the title to this ordinance, is renumbered to be Section 10.01, Dane County Ordi- <br /> nances, as so renumbered is amended to read: <br /> 10.01 DEFINITIONS: For the purposes of this ordinance certain terms used herein are <br /> defined as follows: any words not defined herein shall be construed as defined in <br /> the Wisconsin Building Code: <br /> (1) Accessory Building: A subordinate or supplemental building, the use of which <br /> is incidental to that of the main building on the same lot or the use of, the <br /> premises on which it is located. <br /> (2) Accessory Use: A use customarily incident and accessory to the principal use <br /> of a lot or parcel, or building or structure on the same:=lot or parcel as the <br /> principal use. <br /> (3) Apartment House: A building containing accomodations for more than two families <br /> living independently of each other. <br /> (4) Apartment House Complex: A group of apartment houses, located on a single parcel <br /> of land with certain facilities, such as driveways, parking spaces and the like, <br /> common to the buildings in the complex. Apartment house complexes comprised of <br /> one hundred or more units may include a restaurant, grocery store, drugstore, <br /> personal service shop and the like for the convenience of residents in the <br /> complex. <br /> - 1 - <br /> r <br />
