SECTION 10.01 <br /> (5) Bearings: For the purpose of property descriptions in this ordinance, when the <br /> bearings north, south, east and west are used, they shall be construed as relative <br /> or approximate, and construed as following section lines, quarter section lines, <br /> quarter quarter section lines, or lines parallel to or at right angles, to such <br /> lines, or following mapped property lines or highway lines running approximately <br /> in the direction indicated. Where exact bearings are critical or significant to <br /> the description the exact bearing will be used. <br /> (6) Block: That property abutting on one side of a street between the nearest inter- <br /> secting street, railroad right of way or other natural barriers; providing, however, <br /> that where a street curves so that any two chords thereof form an angle of one <br /> hundred twenty (120) degrees or less, measured on the lot side, such curve shall be <br /> construed as a connecting street. <br /> (7) Boarding House: A building or premises where meals are served by prearrangement <br /> for definite periods of time for compensation for five (5) or more persons, but not <br /> exceeding twenty (20) persons, not open to transients, in contradiction,to hotels <br /> and restaurants open to transients. <br /> (8) Building: Anything erected or constructed, the use of which requires more or less <br /> permanent location on the ground. The building area of a building shall be that <br /> area bounded by the exterior dimensions of the outer walls at the ground line. <br /> (9) Building Height: The vertical distance, measured from the mean elevation of the. <br /> finished grade along the front of the building to the highest point on the. roof for <br /> flat roofs; to the mean height level between the eaves and the ridge for gable and <br /> hip roofs; to the deck line for mansard roofs. <br /> (10) Building Site Area: The ground area of a building or buildings, together with all - <br /> open spaces required by this ordinance. <br /> (11) Camp Site or Camping Grounds: An area or premises providing facilities for over- <br /> night or short term campers in tents, camping trailers or trailers, together with <br /> necessary accessory buildings and service facilities which may be necessary for <br /> water supply and waste disposal, and such other facilities as may be required by <br /> the state board of health, together with a residence or living quarters for the <br /> owner or caretaker on the premises: Such camping grounds must be supervised during <br /> the season they are open to the public. <br /> (12) Club: An association for some common purpose, but not including a group organized <br /> for or which is actually engaged in rendering a service which is customarily carried <br /> on as a business. A road house or tavern shall not be construed as a club. <br /> (13) Colony House: .A building for the breeding and raising of experimental and lab- <br /> oratory animals, such as white mice and rats, guinea pigs and the like, and for <br /> the storage of feed and accessory materials. <br /> (14) Condominium Apartment: An apartment house in which. individual apartments may be <br /> offered for sale instead of for rent. <br /> (15) Definitions: When permitted uses are listed in certain districts and no definition <br /> of that use appears in this section then the dictionary definition or the commonly <br /> accepted definition will be applied. <br /> (16) Dumping Grounds: An area owned or designated by a town, or owned by an incorporated <br /> - 2 - <br />
