<br /> fere with 'br- abrogate or annul any easements, covenants, or similar agreements between
<br /> parties, nor-: is it intended by this ordinance to repeal, abrogate, annul or in any way
<br /> impair or interfere with any existing provisions of law .or ordinance, or any rules,
<br /> regulations or permits previously issued or adopted, or which shall be issued or
<br /> adopted according to law, relating to the use, occupancy, location or height of
<br /> buildings or premises; provided, however, that when this ordinance imposes a greater
<br /> restriction upon the use. occupancy, location or height of buildings or premises than
<br /> is imposed by such existing provisions of law or ordinance, or by such rules, regula-
<br /> tions or permits, the provisions of this ordinance shall control.
<br /> •
<br /> 10. 23' COMPLETION, .RESTORATION OR ENLARGEMENT OF EXISTING STRUCTURES. .
<br /> (1) Nothing herein contained shall require any change' in the plans, construction,
<br /> or.intended use of a building or premises for which plans have been prepared hereto-
<br /> fore, and .the construction of which shall have been diligently pursued within three
<br /> (3) months after the effective date of this ordinance.
<br /> (2) Nothing herein contained shall prevent the structural alteration, restoration,
<br /> or repair of any structure or hu&lding oer pied by asem-conforming use at the effec-
<br /> tive date of this ordinance; provided, however, that the cost of such alteration, re-
<br /> storationoor repairs shall not during the life of such building exceed fifty (50)_per
<br /> cent of the assessed valuation of such structure or building, said valuation being
<br /> that in effect for the year it which such use became non-conforming.
<br /> (3) Nothing herein. contained shall prevent the restoration of a non-conforming
<br /> building or structure destroyed by fire, explosion, act of God or act of public enemy;
<br /> provided, however, that if such destruction shall exceed fifty ,(50) per cent of the
<br /> 4 assessed valuation of such structure for the year in which such destruction occurs,
<br /> the future.use, location, height, setback, rear and.side yards shall conform to this
<br /> ordinance.
<br /> 10 .24 CHANGES AND AMENDMENTS,
<br /> . (.1)'The Dane County Board of Supervisors may from time to time alter, supplement or
<br /> change by ordinance the boundi.ri:es or classifications of districts designated in this
<br /> ordinance, or any of the provisions or-regulations imposed by this ordinance-in the
<br /> manner provided by law,
<br /> •
<br /> 10'.25 -ADMINISTRATION, ENFORCEMENT AND PENALTIES.
<br /> (1) Zoning Supervisor.
<br /> (a}•The.,pi;,ovis,ons op.,.this ordinance-shall be administered by or under the direction
<br /> of the zoning supervisor, who-in person or by duly.authorized deputy-or assistant shall
<br /> have.the'right tc. ente.r upon premises affected by. this ordinance at reasonable hours
<br /> for the-purpose of.inspeotioai. Such zoning supervisor shall be appointed by the zoning
<br /> committee for-a term off two ..(2) years-with the approval of the county board and his
<br /> compensation shall be fixed by the county board iii the same manner as the salaries of
<br /> other county employees. The• zoning committee may require new appointees to the office
<br /> of zoning supervisor to serve- such probationary period as they deem necessary.
<br /> (b) It shall be the duty of the zoning supervisor-to receive applications for build-
<br /> ing permits and such other permits or licenses provided in this ordinance, and to issue
<br /> such permits after applications have been examined-and approved; to inspect buildings
<br /> under construction for.uompliance with regulations of this ordinance; to make periodic
<br /> inspections; to take such action as may be necessary for enforcement of the regulations
<br /> provided' herein; ;to-attend all meetings of the zoning:.,committee;and- the board of ad-
<br /> justment; and to, perform such other duties as the zoning committee and the board of
<br /> adjustment may direct.
