<br /> (21) 'Non-conforming Use: P.. .building or premises occupied by' a use which does not
<br /> conform to the regulations of the district in which it is located.
<br /> • (22) Park, Amusement: An area, publicly or .privately 'owned, containing amusement
<br /> and recreational facilities and devices, whether operated for profit or not.
<br /> (23) Park, Public: An area owned by the county or a municipality within the county,
<br /> operated for the convenience and recreation of the public, and containing such facil-
<br /> it.ies. as the owning municipality shall see fit.
<br /> (24) Parking Lot: A lot where automobiles are parked or stored temporarily, but not
<br /> including the wrecking of automobiles or other vehicles or storage for the purpose of
<br /> repair or wrecking.
<br /> (25) Person: Except when otherwise indicated by the context, the word person shall
<br /> include the plural, or a company, firm, corporation or partnership.
<br /> ,(26'). Professional Office; When conducted in a residential district a.,professional
<br /> office shall be.incidental to the'residential use of the premises, shall be conducted
<br /> by.a member of the _resident family entirely within a residential building, and shall
<br /> include the offices of doctors or practitioners,ministers, architects, landscape ar-
<br /> chitects, professional engineers, lawyers, authors, musicians and'other' recognized
<br /> professional occupations conducted within residence, but not including personal ser-
<br /> vices, , such as barbers, beauticians and similar occupations.
<br /> ' (27) Recreational Camp: An area containing one or more permanent buildings used
<br /> occasionally or periodically for the accomodation of members of associations or
<br /> groups for receational purposes..
<br /> (28) Rendering Platt: A plant for the reduction of dead animals, or slaughtered
<br /> animals not suitable for human consumption, to by-products, such ‘as hide, skin,
<br /> grease, bones, glue and soap, and for the storage of such by-products.
<br /> (29) Roadside Stand: A structure used or intended to be used by the ovmer of occu-
<br /> pant of' the premises on which it is located for the sale of farm or garden products
<br /> produced on the premises or adjacent premises. Such structure shall not be placed
<br /> within the setback line and may not be used for the sale of or dealing in merchandise
<br /> other than farm products locally produced.
<br /> (30) Rooming House; Same as lodging house.
<br /> (31, Setback; The minimum horizontal distance from the front lot line of. the lot
<br /> or from the center of the highway, measured parallel to the highway or the front lot
<br /> line to the front of the building.
<br /> (32) Service Stati2on: Any building, structure or premises or other place used for
<br /> the dispensing, sale or ofering for sale of any motor fuel or oils, 'having pumps and
<br /> storage tanks of a. total capacity of not more than six thousand (6,000) gallons; also
<br /> where battery, tire and similar, services are rendered, but not including buildings
<br /> or premises where suoh business.is incidental to the conduct of a public garage used
<br /> for the repair or storage of motor vehicles.
<br /> (33) Sign: Anything erected, hung, suspended, . painted or attached to any other
<br /> structure, carrying words, letters, figures, phrases, sentencesm names, .designs,
<br /> trade names or trade marks'or any other devioe-place d-si: a.s to be. visible from a
<br /> street or highway and calling, a• tention to a. business, trade. profession, commodity,
<br /> product, person, firm or corporation. For purposes of this ordinance a highway marker,
<br /> symbol., railroad crossing marker or signal, intended fox the. safety of the traveling
<br /> public, or any device or symbal placed in the-highway right of way by or with the
<br /> approval of the governing. body of such highway, shall not be considered'a. sign:
<br /> (34) Sign, Directory: A sign.in.tended for the'convenience• of the traveling public,
<br /> calling attention to a service station, garage, eating or• dr;inking place, tourist
<br /> camp, roadsie stand, shop or similar business, catering:to the traveling public. Such
<br /> sign shall not exceed twlve (12) square feet in gross area, be located not more than
<br /> one-half mile in the approaching direction from the business. advertised, and no pro-
<br /> ducts may be advertised which are not for sale at the- point. indicated.
<br /> (35) Slaughter House: Any building'.dr premises used' commercially for the killing .
<br /> :or dressing of cattle, sheep, swine, goats or horses, for human consumption and the
<br /> storage, freezing and curing of meat and the preparation of meat products.
