Definitions- Districts Sections 10001 - 10 -02 (45) Yard: A space on a lot on which a building is situated, unoccupied except as otherwise provided in this ordinance, open and unobstructed from the ground to the sky. (46) Yard, Front: A yard.extending. across the front of the lot between the inner side yard lines and measured from the front line of the lot and the front line of the building. (47) Yard, Rear: An open space, unoccupied except by accexsory.buildings, extending from the rear line of the main building to the rear lot line for the entire width of the lot. On lake shore or water front lots, the water front end of the lot shall be deemed :the rear end of the lot for the purpose of computing rear yards required by this ordinance. (48) Yard, Side: A yard or open space on each side of the main building extending from the side wall of the,.building to the side lot line and from the front lot line to the rear yard. Section 3. Sections II and XII of the ordinance of July 20, 1938, the title to which is recited in the.tit'le to this ordinance, are hereby repealed.. Section 4. Two (2) new-sect , ions of the ordinance hereinabove entitled Chapter 10, Dane County Ordinances, are crated, to be known as Sections 10002 and 10.03 to read as follows: 10.02 DISTRICTS .(1) Creation: For the purpose of promoting the public health, safety and general welfare, by regulating,. restricting and determining the location of trades and indus- tries and the location,-height, bulk and number of stories, the size of buildings, and other structures, and percentage'.of lot.which'may be;.occupied,'thp. size of yards, and other op di spaces, the density.and.distribution of population,-the location of build - ings- designed for specific purposes, and of establishing districts of such number, shape and area as are best suited to carry out the purposes of Section 59.97, Wiscon- sin Statutes, Dane County, outside the limits of incorporated villages'and cities, is hereby divided into districts, as follows: (a) R -1 Residence District - (b) R -2 Residence District (c) R -3 Residence District (d) R -4 Residence District (e) RH -1 Rural Homes District (f) RE -1 Recreational District (g) B -1 Local Business District (i) A -I Agricultural District (j) C -1 Commercial and Light Manufacturing District (k) C -2 Commercial and Light Manufacturing District (m) M-1 Industrial District (p) CO -1 Conservancy District 10.O.3'DISTRICT LOCATION AND BOUNDARIES The location.and boundaries of such districts for each of the towns in Dane County, outside the.limits of incorporated villages and.cities, are-hereby designated as-fol- lows: -5-
