Definitions- Districts Sections 10001 - 10 -02 <br />(45) Yard: A space on a lot on which a building is situated, unoccupied except as <br />otherwise provided in this ordinance, open and unobstructed from the ground to the <br />sky. <br />(46) Yard, Front: A yard.extending. across the front of the lot between the inner <br />side yard lines and measured from the front line of the lot and the front line of the <br />building. <br />(47) Yard, Rear: An open space, unoccupied except by accexsory.buildings, extending <br />from the rear line of the main building to the rear lot line for the entire width of <br />the lot. On lake shore or water front lots, the water front end of the lot shall be <br />deemed :the rear end of the lot for the purpose of computing rear yards required by <br />this ordinance. <br />(48) Yard, Side: A yard or open space on each side of the main building extending <br />from the side wall of the,.building to the side lot line and from the front lot line <br />to the rear yard. <br />Section 3. Sections II and XII of the ordinance of July 20, 1938, the title to <br />which is recited in the.tit'le to this ordinance, are hereby repealed.. <br />Section 4. Two (2) new-sect , ions of the ordinance hereinabove entitled Chapter 10, <br />Dane County Ordinances, are crated, to be known as Sections 10002 and 10.03 to read <br />as follows: <br />10.02 DISTRICTS <br />.(1) Creation: For the purpose of promoting the public health, safety and general <br />welfare, by regulating,. restricting and determining the location of trades and indus- <br />tries and the location,-height, bulk and number of stories, the size of buildings, and <br />other structures, and percentage'.of lot.which'may be;.occupied,'thp. size of yards, and <br />other op di spaces, the density.and.distribution of population,-the location of build - <br />ings- designed for specific purposes, and of establishing districts of such number, <br />shape and area as are best suited to carry out the purposes of Section 59.97, Wiscon- <br />sin Statutes, Dane County, outside the limits of incorporated villages'and cities, is <br />hereby divided into districts, as follows: <br />(a) R -1 Residence District - <br />(b) R -2 Residence District <br />(c) R -3 Residence District <br />(d) R -4 Residence District <br />(e) RH -1 Rural Homes District <br />(f) RE -1 Recreational District <br />(g) B -1 Local Business District <br />(i) A -I Agricultural District <br />(j) C -1 Commercial and Light Manufacturing District <br />(k) C -2 Commercial and Light Manufacturing District <br />(m) M-1 Industrial District <br />(p) CO -1 Conservancy District <br />10.O.3'DISTRICT LOCATION AND BOUNDARIES <br />The location.and boundaries of such districts for each of the towns in Dane County, <br />outside the.limits of incorporated villages and.cities, are-hereby designated as-fol- <br />lows: <br />-5- <br />
